Learn strategies and skills to build sustainable coral reef recovery with online and offline training for 3 months. We will guide you through the distance learning platform, provide the digital tools you need, as well as hands-on practice to be able to start or strengthen coral reef restoration programs to make them more impactful and sustainable as an organization or community group. You are:

  • Indonesian citizen with a minimum age of 18 years.
  • Have 5-10 hours each week to study online and be able to come to Bali for Offline Study (Field Practice) for 6 days.
  • Have a strong desire to learn, restore Indonesia’s coral reefs and support coastal communities to become stronger.
  • Part of, or planning to establish a group or organization/institution with a focus on coral reef conservation.
  • Original or planning to live for a minimum of the next three years in an area with easy access to reef restoration areas.
  • Already have a good relationship with the target community coral reef recovery program.
  • Have or plan for a coral reef restoration area
  • Have good skills in using laptops/computers, cellular phones, and have access to use them with a good internet network.
  • Can snorkel or dive (certificate is required for diving)

 

Training Format

 
Module Learning Session
 
  • Self-study video recordings: Module access is sent via e-mail weekly on Mondays. You can watch video lessons from a laptop or cellphone as long as you can access the website.
  • Class Discussion with Experts: Every Wednesday or Thursday 12:00 – 14:00 (West Indonesia Time) with the zoom platform.
  • Quizzes and Assignments: Each Module has Quizzes and Assignments that need to be done by Sunday at 23:59. Quizzes or assignments are in the form of documents such as Google Docs, Google Forms, Google Slides, Google Sheets, and/or submit photos/videos.
  • Online presentations were carried out twice, namely in module 3 and in module 10 with the zoom platform.
  • Sharing/knowledge sharing offline is carried out twice namely during field practice in Bali to fellow participants, and a maximum of 2 weeks after graduation to team members or colleagues at their respective locations.
 
Field Practice: For 6 days living and doing activities together in the Sanur Area, Denpasar and Pemuteran Village, Buleleng Bali
 
Private consultation with Mentor 1-on-1 is given 2 opportunities, namely in Module/Week 0 (Orientation) and In Module/Week 11 (Before Graduation)
